Academy Days: Q&A 

What ages can attend?

Academy Days is for students currently in grades 7-11.  Parents are welcome to attend the STREAM Fair on Sunday, but the idea is for the students to stay and get a feel of academy life on their own for the remaining time.  If parents are coming from a distance and waiting for their child they are welcome anytime on our campus. 

Is there a cost?

Academy Days is a free event for all visitors! This includes lodging for one night, all meals and event materials.  

What should I bring?

Sleeping bag and pillow, casual clothing, comfortable shoes, basketball or soccer shoes if you want to try out for these sports, personal toiletries, a towel for showering, and your personal instrument if you want to try out for a music scholarship (pianos provided at USA!). 

What documents must I complete and/or bring?

We will need a copy of your medical insurance card/information with child’s name and a Consent to Treat Form filled out by the time they arrive.  Find this fillable form on our website.  Please email all documents to Janica Caster at [email protected]. 
If you are unable to fill out the form or email the insurance card, please call the main office at 315-889-7314 and they will help you through it.   We appreciate you doing it in advance.  Bringing a pre-copied document will suffice.

Where will this program take place?

Union Springs Academy

Upon your arrival, first head to the gymnasium (located next to a large parking lot on top of the school) for registration/check-in for the STREAM Fair which takes place at the beginning part of Academy Days. After the students check-in they will be given clearance to go check in the dorms and get settled.

Lodging Details: 

All visiting students can stay in the dormitories.  Parents need to make alternative housing arrangements.  If you need a hotel to stay in the Hilton Garden Inn or Holiday Inn in Auburn, NY is clean and nice, and only 15 minutes away.  Another good and reasonable option is the Hampton Inn in Seneca Falls.

What Time?

Please arrive school between 9 and 10 am for registration on Sunday, April 12th when registration/check-in begins.  The STREAM Fair will take place first in the gym for ALL ages finishing by lunch time.  Academy Days will continue in Sunday afternoon and end Monday, April 13th at 2 pm.  Your student can be picked up at the girls or boys dorm then and checked out with the dean.  ​

School rules and policies will apply throughout the event regarding behavior and Christian principals.  Guidelines that need to be upheld by all attendees. If you have any questions or concerns with this trip, please contact our school immediately.

On Monday, students will get to tour classes and get a feel for academy boarding life.  They will also have the opportunity to try out for academic scholarships and extra-curricular programs such as sports, music, art, and technology for more cash prizes to attend USA!
